Chancel Choir meets for rehearsal on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM and Sundays (when we are scheduled to sing) at 9:00 AM. The choir sings at worship service two to three times per month from September through June. Choir does not meet in July or August at which time soloists and small groups are encouraged to offer special music for Sunday services. Previous choral experience is helpful but not required to join this group. Regular attendance is also helpful but not strictly enforced. Consider joining, praising God through
song is an amazing way to serve at DCC.
The Handbell Choir meets for rehearsal on Mondays at 5:15 PM, September through June. This group rings at worship services several times during the year, approximately once every four to six weeks. We have access to three octaves of Schulmerich Bells and ring music at an easy/intermediate level of difficulty. Ability to read music and/or previous experience ringing handbells is helpful. Regular attendance is important as the participants are small in numbers and dependant on one another for successful rehearsal outcomes. Handbell music is a unique and beautiful offering to our Lord. Think about giving it a try.
The Praise Band is an instrumental/vocal group whose focus is to provide DCC with Contemporary Christian Music. The Praise Band's repertoire serves as a contrast to the more traditional music offered by the Chancel and Handbell Choirs. The Praise Band rehearses at 4:00 PM on Monday's throughout the calendar year and provides music for worship service approximately once every four to six weeks. Anyone with experience and/or a desire to become a member of the Praise Band is welcome to bring their instrument or voice to practice. Consider praising God through this upbeat new venue.
One of our newest musical groups is called the Gospel Ramblers and they are still looking for additional members. They will feature Southern Gospel Songs that we all know and love and can sing along with them.
The Living Springs Quartet
The Living Waters Quartet is the DCC's newest musical group. This group is made up of four of our most active musicians and will be leading our musical praise at a number of worship services in the future.
