People of Diamondhead Community Church

Like most Presbyterian Churches, Diamondhead Community Church has three primary groups of people that jointly run all the activities of the Church. These are our Pastor (Minister of Word and Sacrament), the Session(Assembly of Ruling Elders) and the Board of Deacons. Most of the Elders serving in the Session are also Church Committee Chairs. Follow these links for further information.

Rev. Charles R. JonesOur Pastor

Rev. Charles R. Jones began his ministry at Diamondhead Community Church on August 1, 2004. Pastor Chas, as he is affectionately known to the church and community, and his wife Elaine are natives of Edinburgh, Scotland. Since coming to this country in 1983, Chas has served two other Presbyterian churches, one in Pennsylvania for fourteen years and the other in Florida for almost six years. Before coming to the United States, Chas served a large congregation outside Glasgow, Scotland for eight years. He has authored many spiritual and biblical booklets and had a thirteen-year television ministry in Pennsylvania and a radio ministry in Florida. Chas also has written a number of hymns.

Chas preaches biblical based sermons and believes that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God. All his sermons are closely linked to the Scriptures and provide practical and spiritual guidance for Christian living. The heart of the Gospel message is at the heart of his preaching ministry. Chas believes that the church is a family and therefore programs and ministries for all age groups are essential to overall life and welfare of the family of God.

Chas and Elaine have known each other since they were twelve years of age and were in the same class at school. Chas has degrees from Edinburgh University in both Electrical Engineering and Divinity. Elaine worked as a legal assistant in both Scotland and in the United States. They have three grown children, all married, and seven grandchildren.
